How It All Started

My journey into web development started when I set up a football news company. Money was tight and the business needed a website, so I tried to build one myself using WordPress even though I did not yet know how to code. The result was not something I was proud of.

I later paid a professional £1,500 to replace it, but the new website was still slow and clunky. It eventually had to be rebuilt from scratch.

The Turning Point

That experience pushed me to learn HTML and CSS and build the replacement myself. It also showed me why so many small business owners struggle with websites: they may not have the time or technical knowledge to manage one themselves, while a traditional agency can require thousands of pounds upfront.

That is why I created Longnewton Web Design. The aim is straightforward: provide small businesses with a professional website for a clear monthly price, without a large upfront build cost or the hassle of managing the technical side themselves.

Why We Hand-Code Websites

Page builders can be convenient, but they often include far more code and functionality than a small business website needs. Writing the site around the business allows us to keep each page focused, lightweight and easier to maintain.

Speed matters because potential customers do not want to wait for a page to load or fight with a website on their phone. A fast, mobile-friendly website creates a better experience, helps build trust and gives visitors a clearer route to make an enquiry.

Performance also supports a website’s technical SEO foundation. It does not guarantee rankings by itself, but clean structure, useful content, sensible metadata and fast-loading pages all make it easier for search engines and customers to use the site.

A Website You Do Not Have to Manage

The monthly service includes the website build, managed hosting, technical maintenance and ongoing changes. If your services, photographs, opening hours or contact details change, you can send the updates over rather than trying to edit the website yourself.

Packages currently start from £50 per month with no setup fee and no long-term contract. The goal is to make a professional online presence easier to buy and easier to live with for an ordinary small business.
